Job Description Summary

The Account Manager for Electric Vehicles (EV) will play a key role in dramatically increasing EV charging infrastructure in the California Bay Area. The role’s primary responsibility is to provide proactive consultation and site assessment services for commercial and multifamily building owners and managers interested in installing multiple EV chargers.

The ideal candidate will be adept at providing on-site technical services and assessments and communicating findings to customers. The Technical Account Manager will also provide guidance on EV charging and program information to maximize the customer value proposition. Regular communications with participating building owners, facility managers, Trade Allies, Program Partners, and other entities are inherent to this position.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site consultations and EV charging readiness assessments for commercial and multi-family building owners, facility managers, and other Program Partners to ensure the program can meet or exceed its enrollment and installation goals.
  • Work with various outreach sources to schedule and conduct site visits for prospective customers (warm leads).
  • Assess site EV charging readiness for existing electrical capacity, parking capacity, ADA, local parking ordinances and other related attributes.
  • Aide Engineers in EV charging readiness analysis. Present and communicate findings to customers at a general or high technical level if required.
  • Take a consultative end-to-end approach to ensure customer success.
  • Track and enter all required program data related to participants in an accurate and timely manner in Salesforce.
  • Collaborate with internal Call Center, Business Analytics, Marketing and external teams to better communicate key data points property owners require in their decision making processes.
  • Work with program managers to establish performance goals and monitor progress toward goals.
  • Stay current on all program policies, procedures and new initiatives to ensure program participants are aware of all current program guidelines, incentives and requirements. 
  • Develop and maintain advanced knowledge in local and regional EV charging policies, news, and trends.  

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years’ experience in technical account management with an emphasis on building systems data collection for energy audits. Business to Business experience with Property Management, Construction Management, A/E Engineers, Electrical Contractors, Clean Transportation and related fields preferred.
  • Experience with EV charging, utilities, or energy efficiency programs preferred.
  • Enthusiasm for energy conservation and carbon reduction.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical, EV charging, and/or sustainable energy and transportation concepts to property owners and other stakeholders.
  • Working proficiency in understanding electrical line drawings, building electrical panels and equipment is required.
  • Understanding of local parking ordinances and ADA requirements preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, presentation and writing skills. 
  • Must be equally adept at working independently and within a team setting.
  • Proficient in Windows, MS Office Suite, SharePoint (cloud) and Salesforce.
  • >50% travel within the Bay Area Peninsula is likely.
