Job Description Summary

The Regional Health & Safety Coordinator will assist in the management, administration and coordination of the companies Health & Safety Department priorities. Reporting into the Director Health & Safety and collaborating with other Health & Safety Department members, this employee will serve as the key connection between national safety program efforts and local organizational group priorities.

Job Description

  • Responsible for health and safety program management for all locations within assigned business operating unit.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state and local
  • legislation and codes governing health and safety.
  • Develops H&S policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines.
  • Interfaces with regulatory agencies, committee members and plant management staff to formulate corrective actions.
  • Liaison between national Health & Safety department & operating unit organizations
  • Designs and conducts training for all levels of employees, supervisors and managers.
  • Ensures personnel training and corrective action follow-up is completed.
  • Develops and implements accident investigation, data analysis, and
  • recurrence prevention programs and procedures.
  • Conducts on-site reviews and audits of operations and facilities.
  • Directs industrial hygiene, occupational and general safety programs to ensure a safe environment and comply with safety standards.
  • Investigates and evaluates new safety equipment for appropriateness.
  • Interact with employees, customers and vendors effectively, professionally. 
  • Responds and provides assistance to all emergency situations.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as assigned
  • 4 year College degree in safety related discipline
  • 5-7 years of professional health & safety related job experience
  • Prior experience in a national or regional roll within a large matrix organization
  • Excellent customer service, writing, spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills.
  • Exceptional integrity and ability to maintain highly confidential information
  • Ability to travel up to 15-20%
