Job Description Summary

The Senior BA/Project Manager is responsible for translating complex business objectives into technical solutions. Critical to this role will be broad knowledge of business processes, systems, and solutions. In addition may be responsible for the planning, execution, and closing of any project and/or program launches. They are the person responsible for accomplishing the stated objectives. They are the single point of accountability for execution with oversight from the key stakeholders. Project managers have the full responsibility for completing the project, and the authority required to do so. The business analyst's primary objective is helping businesses implement technology solutions in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project or program, and communicating them clearly to stakeholders, facilitators and partners.

Job Description

  • Engage IT stakeholders, service lines, and other strategic partners to support the functional design and delivery of enterprise solutions that span multiple technologies and disciplines.
  • Define and rollout best practices on business requirement definitions and documentation, using Agile tools and techniques.
  • Consults with internal and/or external stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business needs.
  • Collaborates with internal and/or external stakeholders and management to assess, select and recommend solutions and/or alternative approaches that will achieve business goals, reduce time to market, cost, scope, while achieving a high-quality deliverable.
  • Help influence and support the strategic IT roadmap for the company. Work with business and IT peers to help define, develop and maintain strategic and tactical programs and plans.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to business and IT senior management.
  • Serves as a resource to team members and internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects.
  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
  • Manages and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives.
  • Serve as the single point of accountability for execution for higher risk, enterprise-wide, or highly complex projects. 
  • Mentor less experienced project managers
  • Develop and execute communications to all stakeholders including leading and facilitating team meetings, status reports, risk identification, and impacts to scope, budget,  and resources of the project.
  • Develops mitigation plans for all risks and carries out mitigation plans as needed
  • Execute the SDLC and/or Agile methodologies and governing processes consistently.
  • Develop and track the budget for the project; actual for variance in actual versus budget.

For SDLC/Infrastructure:

  • Create clear and attainable project deliverables, based on project requirements. translates technical tasks into understandable tasks and milestones.
  • Manage the constraints of the project parameters (cost, time, scope, quality).
  • Oversee creation of detailed project plan documents and task-level assignments for large, highly complex projects with cross organization impact. These should include monitoring work efforts, identifying resource needs, performing quality review, reporting status, and escalating issues appropriately.
  • Serve as the single point of accountability for project execution.
  • Anticipates, evaluates, and resolves project issues, delays, and problems by utilizing project management and business expertise.
  • Track key project milestones and adjust project plans and/or resources to meet conditions.

For Agile

  • Be familiar with Scrum and Kanban methodologies
  • Lead the scrum team to determine sprint deliverables.
  • Lead the Kanban teams in prioritizing and delivering work.

Additional Job Description

8+ years of applicable IT experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or in another technical discipline. or 8+ years of demonstrable project management experience is acceptable.
